Why someone else story on Our Lady?
Why someone else story on mother Mary? Our ask is, Why not someone else story on Mary? Where is our many hope? Where have been our many victories? Who legitimately loves you? Who will take care of you if you but reach out and ask for help? If you want to know how much Our Lady loves you, and is there for you, read the chapters of this book. Meditate on them. Think about what your needs are. Ask for them. Don't just think about them; get down on your knees and plead for them! mother Mary is there for you. She listens to you. She has great Friends in high places. If whatever can do it, She can. If whatever will do it, She will.
What this story and our first story on mother Mary have been saying is simply, when Her children are in danger, mother Mary, great and loving mother that She is, comes to give us hope, to protect us from the enemy, to save us. Read the Apparitions in our first book on Mary; you will see mother Mary comes at the most crucial times in our lives.
For example in Mexico City (Tepeyac Hill), in 1531, Our Lady of Guadalupe came, averted holocaust, stopped the merciless sacrifices of innocents to a blood-thirsty pagan god, and created Family.
In Paris, in 1830, She came to a slight postulant and gave her and us hope for the world - "Come to the foot of the Altar, great graces will be poured out to those who ask for them."
In La Salette, in 1846, She wept and prophesied what disaster would come to pass if we did not convert.
In Lourdes, in 1858, mother Mary came and introduced Herself as the Immaculate Conception, affirming Her son - Blessed Pope Pius Ix - and his dogma of the Immaculate Conception, which dispelled the heresy of Pantheism.
In Pontmain, in 1871, She came and ended the Franco-Prussian War; She gave us hope.
In Knock, in 1879, although She said nothing, She spoke volumes: protect the Eucharist. If you destroy the Eucharist; you destroy the Church. protect the Word, which is in danger. If you destroy the Word, you destroy the Church. protect the family; if you destroy the family, you destroy the Church, you destroy the world.
In Fatima, in 1917, Our Lady warned that unless we convert, Russia would take over the world. And but for Her costly son, Pope John Paul Ii, this growling bear would have done just that. In Fatima, She warned us that unless we change, many souls would be lost; and that unless we pray and cut many would go to hell. Did we listen?
Our Lady, 16 years after Fatima, appeared in Belgium and again warned us. Did we listen? Do we listen?
Mother Mary went to Belgium and warned us; and in less than a month, the path to total world domination was paved. The world had not listened to mother Mary and the table of contents of the devil's book to hell was getting near full. Hitler became chancellor to Germany and began his conquest or scorch campaign. World War I was supposed to be the war to end all wars, and here it was, and someone else World War was on the horizon. World War Ii was upon us, before we knew it. All things moved so fast. Population were not praying, not yet. They conception the acknowledge was accommodation and compromise. Considerable countries compromised smaller nations. After all, it was not them. The enemy was not threatening them. All of a sudden, it was their turn. Did we then go down on our knees?
When the Lord comes, Population will be so busy running to the malls, trying to buy up happiness, they will miss Him and His salvation completely. Is that why mother Mary keeps on appearing? In our last book on Mary, we traced these circumstances that weave a pattern of salvation if heeded or destruction if not. We didn't listen!
In this story, we are tracing, once again, the many times Our Lady has always come in dire times. We have come close to holocaust once again. My father was a student of old history. He told his children that sadly no one learns from history and keeps on repeating it - the old becoming the modern. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Our Lady has been appearing and appearing, begging us to return to Jesus and His Church. Are we listening?
What can we do?
More than whatever on earth, our Pope understands the seriousness and gravity of the crisis in the world. Having lived through one of the most tragic World Wars in the history of mankind, and then domination by a godless despot, our Pope knows the only way to peace is on our knees, pleading with Our Lord to intervene with the Father.
There is no doubt that the enemy of God is lining up all his military in a last desperate endeavor to drag all God's children to hell, to burn with him through all eternity. But he has Considerable adversaries to stop him from accomplishing his deadly plan: mother Mary and Her Pope John Paul Ii.
Knowing more than he dare disclose, a Pope has once more come to the front line and asked the world to pray the Rosary. And if we do what he says, victory will be ours, war will be averted and violence will cease. Then, perhaps, at long last, all who inhabit the earth,
".... Shall beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks; One nation shall not raise its sword against another, nor shall they train for war again." And only then, "....the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; The calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a slight child to lead them."
Why did the Pope sound 2003 the Year of the Rosary? It is time for us to get down on our knees and, as they did in the Philippines in 1987, fight fire with the Rosary and petitions to the mother of God, Mary Most Holy.
Mothers don't want war! Mary is prominent our mother and the mother of all mankind. Jesus gave Her to us all, at the foot of the Cross. She weeps when She sees Her children slaughtered.
Can change come about? There has been more than one holocaust threatening God's children - the slaughter of the innocents. More Americans have been killed in the abortion clinics than in all the wars we have fought, combined!
At a given point early in 1993, it seemed as if the plight of the unborn was a lost cause. How would we elaborate this to our children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren? Would they be able to make any sense out of not invaders, but mothers killing their own flesh and blood? What would we say?
But then, when all guess had failed, and it seemed as if the senseless, horrible murder of the unborn would never end, a few Population went and prayed the Rosary exterior of abortion clinics, and slowly but surely, change came about. The Pro-choice contingency has complained bitterly that there are fewer and fewer abortions being performed each year. What did we do? We turned to mother Mary. What can we do now? Turn to Mary.
So we come back to the ask we posed at the very beginning of this chapter. Why someone else story on Mary? After reading what we have just said to you, it should be very obvious. Remember Who you're sharp to. Mary has been with us, since the time of Genesis, when God planned our redemption through the Fiat of a Woman. Even as one woman was sinning, causing God to close the Gates of Heaven, God had in His Mind the Woman He would use to open them once again. In God's Eye, She was there for us then; She's here for us now; She will always be for us.
Read on and learn what mother Mary is saying to you. Pick up your Rosary and meditate on the Life of Jesus and Mary. All the Saints read holy books and then made decisions. Our Popes have all done the same. Tolle Lege (St. Augustine).- Take and read! The Lord will speak to your hearts through His Mother.
Listen to Her! We love you.

The Best family Holidays in South AfricaShhhhhh, don't tell anybody, but, I know the secret.
It all started with a easy shopping spree. I had decided to surprise my wife with a new purchase of special clothing essentials from every man's dreamiest of feminine wardrobe stores.
Yes, it was Victoria's Secret.
After spending a few hours there, I mean, a few minutes, something became very apparent to me. It was very inevitable to anything with a trained eye and the gift of observance. It became very apparent that I was the only man in a store mainly comprised of women who was shopping alone.
At that moment, I could sense it. Obviously, I was Ted Bundy, Osama Bin Ladin and Sadam Hussein, all rolled into one.
Now, I'm being humorous, but every man who has embarked upon a shopping mission such as this can empathize with me.
Should I get cotton? Should I get satin? Should I get silk? What about lace? Of course, you have to touch the cloth and check the size to find just the right purchase, which causes even more feelings of suspicion as you lift each garment from the table it is displayed on. "I sure hope they don't think I'm some kind of pervert", I remember thinking.
After several, seemingly unapproachable moments, a young lady decided she would close the chasm that existed between us and, sheepishly I might add, ask if I needed some help. In this store where every piece of clothing is roughly of an intimate nature, she assisted me in looking the sizes I needed.
Through all my humorous discomfort something began to dawn on me. While I didn't go in on a mission of looking out what Victoria's incommunicable "secret" is, I think this palpate may have disclosed it.
Stay with me a few minutes and I will share with you what I think.
It is something that seems to have been misplaced in our desensitized sexually liberated culture.
The Secret
Let's say that man walks up to you and hands you the keys to two different cars. One of those cars is an old Subaru Justy and the other a brand new Ferrari. Do you think you might deal with the Ferrari a wee different than you would the Justy?
Of policy you would, we all would.
We would probably wash the Ferrari a lot more. We would probably make sure the Ferrari was garage kept. While we may let just anybody drive the Justy, the Ferrari would be virtually unattainable for anything to drive.
What's the difference?
Value!
We always treat differently what we value.
That, I believe is Victoria's Secret, secret. For years this franchise has made a living by placing high value on the female anatomy. You can't palpate a shopping escapade like the one mentioned above, see all the colors and the different fabrics designed to help a woman feel special, without looking it.
The Application
I wonder, have we cheapened the human sexual palpate and personally lost the proper placement of value our inventor has given our bodies?
When we show wee concern about how we place our bodies on display. When we could care less about leaving anything to the imagination. When our mentors are the population showing the most skin.
Have we lost the issue of Value?
When agenda after agenda on Tv reports teenagers arresting in sexual show the way with multiple partners on the back of a school bus. When high-school age kids are admitting to sexual encounters in the double digits before they graduate. When human sexuality is carefully wee different than an amusement park scream machine that anything and every person can ride if they wish.
Have we lost the issue of Value?
Remember, we always treat differently what we value.
Are we failing to value sexual intimacy and the bonding it brings to relationships? Are we failing to value the sacredness and oneness such an act produces? Are we failing to perceive the lofty value our inventor has given our bodies to be able to anatomically take part in the creation process?
The next time somebody who belongs in a kennel (Snoop Dog) or man who belongs in a bag (Eminem), straight through music or actions tries to impress upon you that "Girl's Gone Wild" actions are where body dignity is found, remember "Victoria's Secret". Your body has value, period.
The value you place on your body will be reflected in how you use it.

In this article I will discuss briefly on a coaching tool that is defined as "understanding structures" this will provide a small sample of what type of material you will be exposed to during the life coach certification program.
Everything that we do and how we live out in the world is ran by a series of structures that we have put in place. Some of these structures have been established consciously, others any way are not, and in most cases hold us back from our goals. If you think about the restaurant enterprise buildings it's always the same in most places.
The hosts asks how many in your party?
You are brought to your table, you then are approached by a waiter who asks what you wish to drink? After the first order is taken he then returns to ask for your appetizer and entree. during the meal he will stop by and ask, how is the food today? At the end of the meal he returns with a smile and offers you desert or coffee. He later brings the check with a mint. This is a buildings that has been proven to be productive time and time again in the restaurant business.
Do you know what your buildings with your children is? With your spouse? With your work ethic? With your friendships. Even if we might not be aware of it, the programming in our mind is always working in a preprogrammed state. The examine is if the programming is serving us or hindering us? All structures in some level keep an underlining trust or an intention that we feel is satisfying a need. If instead of getting up early to go to work we choose to stay in bed. That satisfies the trust that we need to sleep further time to be productive at work. If this is true or not, it does not matter because we believe it so.
Action steps and reflection
Be always mindful of your automated programming it can make all the discrepancy in your life.
Being aware of the buildings strategy is one tool that as a coach you will teach your clients. It's about empowering them where they are in their life, not what you think they should do. That is what makes a great personal coach.

Tips to Make Your Own Train TableWhat is an Altimeter?
Right back to basics, an altimeter is a device which measures changes in height or as the pro's say - altitude. The simplest way of measuring altitude is to quantum the way the pressure of the air nearby us changes as we ascend or descend, the air gets thinner the higher we go up. Unfortunately this turn is very dinky (unless you have a jet!) and you need an very precise instrument to quantum the turn in air pressure experienced by walkers, or even downhill ski racers. Until recently the only way to do this was with a very sensitive mechanical device, too big, delicate and expensive for the mean Joe to carry around. Then electronic gauges were made for aircraft - but these were incredibly expensive, very exotic. And then those electronics whizz kids went and miniaturised them, shrunk them until they fit into an commonplace watch !!! Now everybody can have one.
But air pressure changes with the weather too doesn't it?
Yes it does, but not sufficient to make the alti-meter too inaccurate and with a dinky care you can certainly read the changes in the air pressure and get an idea of the weather to come. In other words you can have your own weather forecast on your wrist!
But what will I do with an Altimeter-watch?
It depends upon what you do with your life, but just dream how many of today's operation sports involve going up... And then advent back down. dream knowing how far you've climbed from the bottom of the hill, your total height gain for the day on your mountain bike, how far you've ski'd down a hill - and how long you took. You can go back next week and try do more, faster! There are other things, mountaineers can pin point where they are - if you are on a knife edge ridge, if you know your height you can read off a contour on the map and fix your position. If you're camping in the wilds, you can watch the air pressure overnight and see if tomorrow is going to bring that glorious day you're hoping for! anything you do from cycle touring to parachuting, wouldn't it be good to know just that bit more about where you are and what you've done?
Ok, I've bought one, how do I use it to quantum height?
The basics are dead simple, if accuracy isn't a matter of life or death or you are just interested in the relative turn in altitude (relative turn is the unlikeness in the middle of A & B, not the actual height of point A or B), then you just read your height or turn of height, right from the watch face - nothing to it. Zero it (or set it to the nearest contour on your map) at the bottom and read off your climb at the top, dead easy and with these great watches, precise to a metre or two. Even if you don't zero it, the altitude reading will be approximately right for any singular place (say within 10m) and the height gain will be precise to within a metre or two.
But the spec says it measures height precise to within one metre?
Well, what they mean is that it will quantum the turn in height to within one meter, to quantum the absolute height to this accuracy you have to callibrate the meter and because the weather affects the air pressure, to enounce accuracy you'll have to re-callibrate whenever you can throughout the day. This sounds like a chore but it isn't. All you do is, every time you reach a point where you know the height, say at the top of a mountain, a lakeside or any other point where you can read the height off a map, you reset the actual height into the watch. This take a combine of button presses and a few seconds. Even when you need the utmost accuracy, say when going into the cloud at 2,000ft on the Cairngorm Plateau, you only need to do this every few hours at most. I've set mine at the sea's edge and been meter exquisite on on the top of Ben More Assynt 4 hours later!
And the weather?
Well, set the watch to barometer mode and check the air pressure right now. If its high, 1020Mbar and above it'll likely be dry. 980Mbar and below and it'll probably be grey and wet. I say probably, because it isn't foolproof, but it's a pretty good rough guide. If you watch the weather over time, say overnight you'll get to see the trend (shown on the dinky greaph on the watch), this shows whether the pressure is rising falling or maybe just staying the same. Generally, if the pressure is falling, it's getting worse, if it's on the up, the sky will probably be clearing soon. It takes a while to get the knack, but pretty soon you'll have a good idea of what's going on nearby you. When you see that baro at 980 and plummetting, well maybe you'll put the bike back in the shed and meet your mates down the pub to talk about how good it was last week. If you're a canoeist - maybe this weekends going to have some big water!
Yeah, but you said the altitude affects the air pressure and the weather affects the air pressure - how do I know which one's affecting the readings?
Well now, an advanced user! You're right, they do influence each other, and the altitude has much more corollary than the weather, so if you're going up and down a bit the weather becomes quite hard filter out, but you can do it. The main thing is to keep calibrating it, if the weather or height is important - keep calibrating. Ordinarily you'll calibrate the watch from a map height, this will ensure the altitude is always accurate. But when you calibrate, stop and think a minute, is the watch reading low, or high. If it's reading low, it's good news, since you last calibrated the air pressure has risen - remember - higher pressure means lower altitude - so the watch reads low. If the altitude is reading high, the opposite applies, the pressure has dropped - it could be bad weather ahead. The amount you have to turn the watch by also tells you something - a metre or two means the weather is certainly pretty stable, 10 metres and you'd good keep an eye out. For a rough guide the pressure changes about 1 mbar for every 8m of height, thus at if you are at 800m and the air pressure is 900mbar, at sea level it is 900+800/8=1000mbar. If you're a real weather nut, you can use the table below to estimation the air pressure at sea level from the altitude and barometer readings from your location. Remember:- this is an estimate, many factors influence the actual air pressure - keep calibrating and keep your eyes open! (If you certainly want to know more check the net, there's some certainly good geeky weather sites out there).

And this ones got a compass too!
Some of them do, they're not the best military marching compasses, but they do the job. The pointers tend to be small, but with the backlit display you can see sufficient to check your procedure and since it's on your wrist it's always promptly available and never gets in they way of your ice axe. Keep your marching compass handy for real navigational decisions, but check your watch often to stay on track you've set.
The Final Picture
At the end of the day, alti-watches are just someone else tool, they can be just fun, a serious training aid, or certainly get your ass out of the deep stuff. If you are going to use it seriously you need to convention using it and keep checking it against all the other inputs you have nearby you. always keep it visible, in good weather on your wrist, in bad weather put it on over your jacket - it's waterproof! A good navigator uses all his tools together and thus will spot it if one of them is misleading him. Personally my alti-watches (I'm on my second!) have saved me some serious grief and kept me off bad ground more than once, I wear it every day and watch the weather so I know whether to take the bike to work or not!
I can't say you have to get one, but if you spend time outdoors I think you'll use it, and at today's prices why not just give it a try. Typical favorite option will be Suunto Core which are reliable and accurate
Have fun, but keep safe out there!
insight Altimeter Products in SportWe go to school to learn; but, did we ever learn how to learn? Have you ever wondered how we learned to speak or to read and write? How do we learn to drive a car, fly an airplane or, for that matter, walk and run? How do we learn arithmetic? How do we learn to communicate? How do we learn to respect, trust and love? How do we learn anything?
Learning how to learn is prominent because if we don't or can't learn, we're in big trouble! Obviously, we did learn. We learned many behaviors and a fair estimate of knowledge. Just by the fact that you are reading and understanding these words advise not only that you did learn, but that you can learn. Yet, the ask is how did you do it? Because if you know how you did it, you can apply that knowledge to just about anyone that needs to be learned.
Simply stated, studying is a process of creating, arranging and re-arranging neural interactions and neural program structures within the brain. We're well pre-programmed and hard wired for studying and we well don't have to learn how to learn. But, we can learn how to enhance and magnify our capacity to learn. All studying is in the brain. Even if we are studying a bodily dance movement with our feet, the studying is taking place in the brain where neurological "magic" is happening. From there, nerves and muscles are coordinated in an extraordinarily complex process of bioelectrochemical signals.
Before the brain can begin it's creating, arranging and re-arranging of neural interactions, i.e., before there can be learning, there must be input. Input comes in the form of raw sensory data. Depending on how that date comes in can greatly accelerate, or impede, learning. Raw sensory data is received through the eyes (sight), the ears (sound), the skin (touch), the nose (smell), the tongue (taste) and the musculoskeletal system (movement). Of course, our nervous system is at the base of all these sensory systems, sometimes referred to as the "Sensorium." Also, a process called "synaesthesia" is often referred to in studying theory. Synaesthesia is the quality to mix up the senses; for example, you can hear the color blue or see the sound of wind. This kind of imaginative shifting of sensory modalities can often be helpful in working with studying disabilities.
In the 1970's a Bulgarian psychologist by the name of Georgi Lazanov revolutionized the field of studying with his ideas of "superlearning" and "suggestology." His factory was that varied environmental stimuli, when regulated properly, can accelerate learning. Specifically, an environment that induces free time was optimal for learning. Other key factor in superlearning was rhythm. The proper rhythms used alternatively, whether from background music or sound, is also extremely conducive to accelerated learning. Basically, what Lozanov, and others who have followed appear to be saying is that studying is best ended in a very relaxed practically hypnotic state of mind. This is very tantalizing because our schools are anyone but relaxing and trance inducing.
Imagine a classroom that is not brightly lit, that is spacious adequate for 25 children to lie on the clean, carpeted floor. Fantasize soft background sounds, possibly that of a waterfall or a babbling brook. Fantasize then hearing, whether from an audio tape or a live person, the singing of the multiplication tables, beginning with the 2's. Each run through the table is sung at a distinct rate, rhythm, tone, cadence and volume. Following this exercise, Fantasize the children then sitting at desks and writing out the multiplication tables they just heard with distinct colored crayons. Then Fantasize them singing them out aloud themselves. Fantasize any estimate of games that can then be played using the multiplication tables. How long and how difficult do you think it will be for students to learn the tables this way? Will it be torturous or enjoyable? Gee, kids might even like arrival to school to learn! Now, that would be a revolution in education!
Want to learn to ski, or sail, or dance, or surf, or fly an airplane? Well, just about anyone can be learned in a very similar recipe as described above. The only dissimilarity is that in the case of bodily activities, visualization replaces bodily activity. So, let's say you want to learn to.....play a musical instrument, play the guitar. You can greatly enhance your studying capacity by taking a piece of the skill, say a simple chord, and, in a very relaxed and calm state of mind, you practice that chord in your mind. You visualize every particular information of your hand and fingers. You feel the pressure of the strings on your fingers; you hear the sound of the chord being strummed. Want to learn to fly an airplane? Well, you don't necessarily need to relax and visualize it. Today, with the arrival of contemporary computer technology, you can enter a flight simulator, which is just inner visualization materialized outward via technology. Even home computers now have flight training programs. Want to enhance your athletic performance? There is no ask that relaxed visualization is a key component. Top athletes from all over the world and their coaches will attest to the fact that inner visualization has a substantial impact on improving performance.
The gist of the matter is simple: studying takes place in the brain and the most conducive environment for the brain to learn in is one which allows neural connections to be formed easily, quickly and without resistance or distractions. Subdued lighting, soft background, trance inducing music and free time are a extremely sufficient environment for studying and visualization.
Ever wonder why it's so hard to learn new behaviors? generally it's because there is so much stress and anxiety about it. If you well want to learn new behaviors (as opposed to being coerced into it), then use free time and visualization. practice seeing in your mind's eye the new behavior. As you repeat this process you are creating new neural pathways which are the basis of the behavior you want to generate. Give it a try. You'll be surprised at how quickly and well you can learn a new behavior and how well your brain can work when given the proper environment.

When my two boys both dropped their naps, a moderate estimate of television became part of their rest-time routine. As a stay-at-home mom, I also relished the break and the quiet time to make supper and return some phone calls. I was always just to keep their viewing time within the recommended guidelines of no more than two hours of screen time and my children still had ample surface playtime, activities surface of the home, rainy day cooking and art projects, and playtime with their toys. I did not feel that television interfered with their lives in any way.
My two boys, spaced just 22 months apart, argued with each other. This peaked at the ages of 4 and 6. Their fighting rarely escalated into any real violence that would cause any injury. Their fighting was also not constant-only over certain, favorite toys. Everyone, including my husband, told me it was all within the normal range of sibling rivalry. As an only child, I had no frame of reference for this and found it very difficult to tolerate. I read the books, read the articles, and tried numerous strategies, but the fighting would break out regardless of my efforts.
Part of the issue lay in their dissimilar personalities, or so I thought. My oldest son was very imaginative and would create endless stories with his toys where my younger son was more corporeal and wanted to instead move everything around. My youngest son did not have the attention span to focus on entertaining himself and relied on my oldest to lead the way during playtime. He would result the oldest around and do exactly what he did and this absolutely could be quite annoying.
I decided that I needed to maximize the estimate of time they spent playing together if they were to ever outline out a way to work things out. My oldest son is in full-day kindergarten and that left exiguous time for play once we went to the playground, ate dinner, bathed, did homework and made it to bed at an age-appropriate, early hour. Something had to go and that something was that one show I allowed them to watch while I made supper and the one show they watched in the morning if they got dressed quickly.
I went cold turkey with the weekday television viewing. They asked for a show each day and each day I would tell them no for some calculate or another. Playtime at home was extended and so was the fighting. I told myself that things had to get worse before they got better. There were moments that I just wanted to turn on the Tv and be able to make supper in peace, but I held my ground. I decided I would do this experiment for a few weeks and then if there were no improvements in their fighting, I would go back to my usual routine.
Within just two short weeks, things got better. They did not get good by a small amount. Our whole lives got good by leaps and bounds. My youngest son who I was convinced lacked the quality to self-entertain and lacked creativity made an whole village for his Disney Seven Dwarfs range out of bowls, tissue, paper, tape, the dried beans he found in the cabinet, and an egg carton. He then played with it the next day for over an hour while I cleaned the kitchen and packed lunches.
My oldest son was doing wonderfully in school both socially and academically, but was at times moody at home and prone to getting absolutely angry. He was always quick to loose his temper with his brother. Within a week of reduced television time and increased quiet playtime with toys, he gently figured out a way to work things out with his brother. His moodiness eased and his patience for his brother grew. Their bickering was reduced and I heard them talking over ways to play together and arrival up with compromises and solutions.
The television remained off limits during the week and only given as a break in the day on the weekends and then kept to no more than an hour. After awhile, they stopped asking. They knew that if it was not a weekend, there was no Tv. Within two months, I had two happy, creative children who could entertain themselves and get along for longer and longer periods of time.
What about time to get things done as a stay-at-home mom? Yes, it takes me longer to get them settled into an action before I can slip away. Yes, it takes more exertion to think of more projects or propose dissimilar playthings or toys when they are having issue finding something to do. However, the time approximately always comes when they are content, playing, and I can do the things that I need to around the house. The sound of them laughing and not the theme song to a children's Tv show has my spirits lifted enormously.
My sons have friends with video games. They enjoy playing with them when they are at these friend's houses and even ask if they can have one. However, these same kids come over to our house where the Tv does not get turned on and there are no high-tech video games and do not want to leave. They rediscover their love of train tables, play with musical instruments, and happily use the toys we have in our small basement and never once ask for the television to be turned on.
Perhaps even what is now considered moderate television viewing and the Academy of Pediatrics two-hour television limit is too much. Perhaps whole days or weeks at a time should be set aside where it is not turned on. Yes, television can teach our children how their Abc's and counting at earlier ages, but is this absolutely necessary? Isn't kindergarten early adequate for that? Is even educational, non-violent television taking away from these formative years when so much social improvement is based on play? A simple experiment in giving my kids more time together answered all these questions for me. The television went off in my house and my kids became kids again, their imaginations turned on, and the house I always wanted came into focus.

As teens we would always gain at one person's home or someone else to hang out and plan out weekend adventures. We would watch a wee Tv and maybe order a pizza. In my home the living room was where the Tv was and we had a set of folding snack tables where everyone could sit on the couch or in a chair and have their munchies right in front of them.
Our living room had a dark avocado sculptured pile carpeting that, no matter what was spilled on it, it would not show. It went well with my mother's white and gold French provincial furniture and our lifestyle.
My one friend, who lived in a contemporary bi-level in the new development, was restricted to the small family room inside the sliding glass doors from the back. His living room, on the next level, was off limits to whatever but the cleaning lady. It was like a future museum where the style of 60s customary furniture would be preserved for the viewing pleasure of generations to follow. The gold upholstered furniture with fruitwood trim sat proudly upon a thick, off white, plush carpeting with pile so deep it would reach my second knuckle, if I were allowed to touch it. His mum had really trained the cleaning lady to walk beside the vacuum cleaner, rather than behind it, so she would run over her footprints leaving a perfect diagonal pattern in the pile that reminded me of a baseball outfield before the game started. The purpose here, I was convinced, was to tell if whatever walked on it. So of course, right before we left and my friend was not looking, one of us would run onto and off of the carpet. He used to get so mad because his mum would blame him. Kids can be so mean.
My third friend lived in a garden apartment which his parents proudly decorated in that Spanish Revival style that was so beloved at the time, for reasons I still do not understand. They had a gold shag carpeting with a brown velour couch that had twisted dark wood arms. There was a dark wood and wrought iron coffee table and a swag fixture with an amber globe within a black iron cage. The carpeting would capture everything that landed on it like a giant sea urchin. No matter how many times you vacuumed it, matter was still held captive firmly in its tentacles.
So here we have three lifestyle choices when it came to buying carpet. One of which, I am proud to say, was the right choice my parents made. The second would not have mattered because it was all for show and never used. The third was a terrible choice as the family was living basically in one room for all activities and they chose a high maintenance stock that did not clean up well. That was probably due to the low quadrate foot cost and trendiness.
Selecting the right carpeting is a very foremost decision as it is a long term venture that will never bring a return other than its purpose. So realizing this you must think the following:
How long will it last? This depends on the ability of the stock and its credit for durability. Also how it is maintained. Hiring the best carpeting professional for cleaning and protecting it is paramount.
Can I live with the color and style for a long time, even if I turn the other décor? I once bought a house with red carpeting. It clashed with everything and had to be removed even though it was in perfect condition. Had it been neutral it would have stayed.
Does the type and ability match the intended use of the room? A Berber is a lovely and tough carpeting with its twisted shallow pile favorable for high foot traffic but not where pets can pull loops up and cause damage. A plush works well in areas that are seldom used as it shows footprints. There are also plain or pattern issues. Confident patterns hide stains very well like interwoven shades of the coordinated hues.
Don't make this decision alone.
I arrive with about 350 other guys. We smile at each other but undoubtedly don't talk much. I guess we all feel that we are too good and too proud to be at a sales-training seminar.
The trainer/speaker/guru promenades into the room and starts glad-handing everyone. He is dressed in a ,200 suit with a sequined T-shirt underneath.
He lets us know right away that he just never wears a tie. (Suddenly all of us are loosening our ties, slipping them off, and stuffing them into our briefcases.)
"Ok fellows, get up!" he tells us. "Put down your pens and pads; you won't need them today. I am going to make you a successful sales rep by changing how you think, not how you write. I want every person to push away the chairs. Open up the room so that we can open up your minds."
Reluctantly, we start pushing the chairs and table into the corners. Are we supposed to be in nursery school? I concept I was finally going to learn how to close more deals.
The lights are dimmed. He begins with a whisper. "Close your eyes... Think back to when you were a small child. Remember that story your mom would read to you. The one that you already knew by heart but wanted to hear again and again. The story that shaped you hopes and dream. What was it?"
He must be pulling our leg, I thought. But then someone screams out, "The miniature motor that could."
Mr. Guru jumps on it. "Great, now I want you to undoubtedly get into the story." He starts pretending he is a train and huffs and puffs colse to the stage.
"Those of you who want to get on that train of success, what are you waiting for?" He is imploring us to join him.
To my disbelief, within 20 seconds 100 guys are snaking colse to the tables and chairs in a long conga line. Then I start hearing music that sounds like an motor that is racing faster and fastrer. The guys are loving it.
After a few minutes of pure pandemonium, Mr. Guru cuts the music, and every person quiets down. "Ok, Ok, I want every person to get that favorite story of their very own into their karma and act it out. Also look colse to the room to see if anyone else has a similar dream."
The noise level goes right back up, and yet I am still standing in the angle doing nothing. These guys are a bunch of jerks, I tell myself.
The guy next to me is beginning to take off his jacket, and even his shirt. "What are you doing?" I ask.
"My favorite story was the emperor's new clothes," he says with some embarrassment. "You remember, every person pretends that they see stuff that is undoubtedly not there to please the emperor. Well I am tired of pretending at work that all those ideas from my boss are so great. I think most of them are foolish."
This guy is right. I start pulling off my shoes and socks, even my toupee. I see sense lenses popping out, and women pulling off their high heels and pulling out running shoes from their purses. We have at least 30 to 45 population colse to us. We are not alone.
What are we going to do with this newfound community? I jump onto the stage and tell Mr. Guru about our group. To my disbelief, he asks me to speak to the whole institution about what we are doing.
"When?" I ask.
"Right now," he responds and sticks the microphone in my hand.
I begin telling our story, To my amazement the "little motor guys" stop huffing and puffing. They stand still. They are listening to me. They start removing their jackets. The few remaining ties are gone too.
I am into this. I tell the crowd, "Next time your expectation asks you for the benefits of your product, don't just repeat the garbage in the fancy brochure. Tell me how you, yes you, how you can undoubtedly help them.
"Listen to your client, he is the emperor. Find out what he undoubtedly wants. No one has ever undoubtedly asked the question." I am on a roll, wow, and I am loving it.
The room is hopping. This is how my kids must feel at a rock concert. Do they still have mosh pits? I am ready to jump. I am sweating from exhilaration. I see Mr. Guru standing just off stage, grinning.
The music comes on. He runs out, thanks every person for coming, and tells us to buy his book and sell, sell, sell.
With one hand, he envelops me with a huge hug. His other hand turns off the microphone. He whispers in my ear. "Hesh, good job as always. See you out back. Don't forget the limo is waiting for us."
method to the Madness of Training SeminarsWant more energy when you ride? Ever hit the wall while your friends run circles colse to you? Time to do something about it. As in, get up off the couch and pay attention. All the Red Bulls and Rockstars in the world are useless if you don't put down the taco pizza and pick up some weights. Here's what you need to do to get primed for the shred.
Eat oatmeal for breakfast.
Nearly all nutritionists agree. Oatmeal is the best morning meal option, period. A single bowl will give you tons of energy and make you feel full for most of your day. Oatmeal isn't only packed full of carbs. It's got a bunch of other nutrients and vitamins to top off your tank. No doubt when I talk about oatmeal, those tiny, ready-to-eat maple syrup and blueberry oatmeal packets are off the table. Those are for kids in their jammies. You need the real stuff, the giant unprocessed Kroger-brand can (Bob's Red Mill or Coach's Oats if the wallet allows). Fill a medium-sized bowl and do your best to skip all the sugar. I know it tastes yummy, but you're bound to crash later on. I man up and eat mine with whole fruit.
Lift weights when the weather sucks.
If the pow is poor, don't stay inside and mope. Get off your Xbox-playing butt and go to the gym for a few hours to acknowledge a real Call of Duty. Because you're not tired from riding, this is the best time to go. Plus, you'll unmistakably feel like you're doing something with your life. Weird, huh?
Here are a few better-shredding exercises to check out:
-Reverse crunches -Leg press -Cable crossover "wood chops" -Dead lifts -Lunges. Go with anything that works your quads and/or your core. Avoid over training or doing the same rehearsal two days in a row. I see kids go to the gym every day and do the same things. If you want more power, that is lame (fo' real).
Eat a post-workout / post-shred meal.
After riding or the gym, your body is in a depleted state. While saving time, hit your muscles with a quick jolt of protein and sugar. Yeah, you heard me. Sugar. All you pre-ride Red Bull guys are missing the point, dear bros. It's for after when the sugar goes right to your muscles while caffeine speeds up the process. Whenever I go riding, I pack some protein powder and candy for the bus ride home. I make a quick shake and load up on sugar. Red Bulls and Rockstars are cool While this time, but one is enough (even if you scored a sweet two-fer deal at the 7-11). You've got about 45 minutes to get all of this sugary awesomeness into your body. After that, the sugar doesn't help much so you're best off eating "real food."
Get enough sleep and take a day off every now and again.
I'm serious about this. There's no way staying up until 2 A.M. Finishing the Law and Order Marathon makes you a best rider. Put down the remote, say goodnight to your valuable other and unmistakably sleep. No estimate of oatmeal eating or gym training will replace solid rack time. Even listening to Coach Ted, you'll hit the wall. Take a day off. I once tried snowboarding for a month straight. After three weeks, I was off my game, running on empty every time out. Missing your Xbox yet? Use your day off to reacquaint yourself. There's no best feeling than shredding on a full tank. Lines are cleaner and girls notice you more when you aren't falling asleep on the chair. If you keep at it long enough, you might even stop sucking at snowboarding. Just sayin'.

If you would like to start a heated seminar in a room of parents just mention the word spanking. This particular word can polarize a group in about 1.3 seconds. It is naturally amazing. Parents tend to have a very strong stance on this and it is understandable. Most want what is best for their children and discipline in a way they feel benefits the child most. I am no exception to this. When they are told they are doing something that is damaging their child, or missing a key disciplinary tool they take it personally. Again, this is normal
This polarization was exciting to me so I went finding for the reply to the, "should I spank my child," question. Surprisingly I did not find an answer, but I did find some exciting information. Let us start by finding at where the professionals stand.
In April of 2010 Tulane University published a study that showed frequent spanking at age three was connected to more aggressive behavior at age five. Past studies have also connected spanking to lower Iq scores. This sounds pretty serious and is worth taking note of. In difference though, Michigan's Calvin College published a study in January of 2010 showing the exact opposite. In this study kids who were spanked were more likely to achieve better at school, be happier as adults and be more likely to volunteer and go to college. Both of these were scientifically controlled and reported studies. How can they both be right?
Well, believe it or not, they can be. Assuming that their controls were done correctly and they took into list other contributing factors there is still an element that can vary enough to allow both to be true. This is the very field of the studies, what constitutes a spanking? This is a serious examine and one that most studies do not directly address. Were the kids spanked by hand or with a paddle or other object? Were the kids spanked on their bare bottoms, or straight through clothing? Were other forms of discipline used or just spanking? This list could get very long but you see where it is going. I have not found a particular study that tries to qualify how a child was spanked, only that the parents say they spank. In my scientific mind this does not mean much.
I need to post a disclaimer here. I believe in spanking. As to not make the same mistake these studies have made, I will define what I reconsider spanking. I will leave it to you to conclude if this is the same definition others are using or not. For me the following is a spanking. It would be a stretch to reconsider it abuse.
Correctly Spanking a Child:
These are the steps we take every time one of our children directly challenges our authority. We use time-outs, time-ins, removing privileges, and many other forms of discipline as well. However, if a child knowingly chooses to defy us they know they will get spanked. Below is a roll play of exactly what this looks like in our family.
Little Johnny is three years old. He walks over to the table and picks up my cell phone. He has been told clearly not to play with our phones in the past. I walk into the room and instruct him to put the phone back. (If he were to obey he would still be put in time-out for this level of disobedience). He looks at me and yells no and runs off with my phone. This is direct defiance. I go get the paddle, catch him and set down on the floor with him in my lap. I ask him if he was being obedient. He answers, "No." I ask him if his behavior was respectful. He answers, "No." I tell him he is definite and that his selection to be disobedient and disrespectful means he will receive a spanking. I then ask him what other selection he could have made. He responds with, "Put the phone down." I praise him for knowing the definite selection and tell him that he will get two spanks for selecting to disobey. I stand him up and administer the spanks. As he is crying I pull him back into my lap and give him a big hug and kiss. I tell him that I love him and want him to grow up into a respectful and flourishing young man who knows how to make wise choices. I hug him again and by this point he wants me to come and play with his trains. He knows he did wrong and he knows he is still loved. We can both move on.
Yes, this takes a long time. It is not as uncomplicated as a quick slap with the hand or swipe with a belt, but it is constructive and not destructive. It is also not what these studies mean when they call a parent and ask, "Do you spank your child?" This is how I define spanking. It is not for everybody and I understand that. I will never fault parents for selecting not to spank. However, for those of us who choose to, and choose to correctly, I would like to at least define what we are arguing over. I would love to see a study that looks at the long term effects of dissimilar types of spanking. I do not expect that will be forthcoming any time soon though.
Spanking a Child - Does It unmistakably Cause Harm?Paris, I say to you, keep going with your life. You are living it! Congrats! Since we get to see a lot of you then you are a role model for new ways and values for living life. I like that. I worked with many habitancy with screwed up lives in my lifetime as a psychologist. I affirm what you are doing, as I see it from the media. Ah So!
The media has got you, Paris Hilton, all wrong. Why? Because the near anonymous reporters of the media are not themselves in the limelight, and so they make celebrities seem bad whenever they can.
Media reporting is negative character construction for group consumption. All of us know that the media think that the group feeds off of negative things happening in life. Destroy the Twin Towers and everyone is motivated, and a slow-witted man elected President of the United States thinks he is going to make history.
It's the negative effect. Just look at the Larry King, Cnn interview of Paris Hilton after she gets out of jail. Just look at how the Los Angeles court theory treated Paris Hilton and how she fought back.
Let's say from the start that media news is spicy because media news is presented as a drama, like a good movie or novel.
Paris Hilton is a pretty heiress. Her parents own the Hilton hotels and so Paris has all the money she wants or needs to live her life. Okay, how many of us have this kind of opportunity? Not many of us.
Paris has the potential to totally express herself, to be totally herself, but she also has the relaxation to ruin herself and her life.
That's a point! Poorly paid habitancy in the media look for ways to excel at writing up and presenting the news. Larry King got to the top from the Brooklyn ghetto where he grew up with some boys who became gangsters. Some make it and many don't.
Why be negative when you have success in life, Larry?
Look at Larry King and how he made it big! Now Larry King interviews the miniature rich kid, Paris Hilton, after she gets out of serving jail at 22 days, mostly spent in solitary confinement.
During the interview Paris Hilton says she read the Bible every day. Larry King acted interested. What passages in the Bible did you especially like? he asks. Why? He wants to make Paris Hilton negative if he can. Paris doesn't know the number and verse of the passages she read in the Bible during jail confinement.
Paris is no intellectual, Larry. Why make her look bad? habitancy can read the Bible and get good things from it without having to memorize inescapable things as if you are taking a rational school exam. Don't you think?
Come on, Larry King! Were you manufacture Paris Hilton look good or bad, or were you being neutral and objective?
The truth is that from the video of the Larry King interview of Paris Hilton I watch, Paris Hilton handled herself highly well.
Here's the point. habitancy love to project both negative and inescapable onto media stars, the celebrities they write about. Larry King lives off of celebrities while not being one himself. This is the problem with media people. What have they industrialized of themselves and life? They are writers writing about others but not doing anyone significant themselves. Larry King is one of these.
Paris Hilton is acting literally and effectively in expressing herself in life. She is using her resources to make a splash and to represent something of value to her and many of her peers.
True, modern community is too controlling, with all the judges, lawyers and police around to regulate the behavior of citizens trying to fulfill themselves.
Here are the Characters in the most up-to-date part of the Paris Hilton saga:
The Judge: In jailing Paris Hilton the judge made sure to send her to jail, where many would be let off or put under house parole with a ankle bangle that monitors their whereabouts. The judge was a punishing type. He represents controlling others in community by using power, with simplistic mental about what is right and wrong. He made Paris go back to jail when the Sherif sent Paris home to serve her time, something the sheriff also did for others sometimes.
The Sherif: He sent Paris Hilton home because she was fearful and upset and claustrophobic He demonstrated compassion. He showed kindness to a celebrity. Yet, from the Larry King interview she learned some toughness from the jail experience, and maybe her character is improved!!!
Paris Hilton: A young adult who is not yet old sufficient to resolve down and live a controlled life according to general or conservative adult standards. Given that she was driving recklessly then she needed containment, some restraint to teach her ego that she could not just act out in community according to her own wishes and values.
Larry King Media: writers who live off of the characters of society, who are not themselves media stars or characters in their own right. Larry King is a media 'writer' by doing interviews that are recorded and shown to the public. He creates characters by how he interviews the characters who come to him. He is a novelist in disguise, a specialist builder, or enhancer of character. The celebrities he interviews are even more intense characters after he gets through with them. It's a skill, but it takes cruelty as well. You can see when he favors inescapable celebrities and builds them up, and when he tears down inescapable habitancy he does not like according to his own attitudes and the attitudes of the media assosication he works for.
The Public: members of the group in the millions are practically all habitancy who do not have the resources, the talent, the looks, the intelligence, the luck, the drive to come to be media stars. When you and your life does not stand out among your peers, then you have to live through the celebrities of your time who do stand out and therefore represent the best and the worst of your generation. What is most true about the media and celebrities is that we project onto them, identify with them, and live through them.
Paris Hilton says the food in jail is slop. Well, maybe it is slop, but maybe that is intentional. Paris Hilton is right. community does not want to face that this acting out against the rules is not retain to change.
Where best to have the best made food inherent than in jails and prisons? What best way to show compassion and affirmation to change than in the jails and prisons of the world? You whether believe in restoration of at least some prisoners, or you want to condemn them and make them suffer.
In the news recently: A seventeen year old murderer is sentenced to death. He reacts in court and starts fighting. His house is in court and terribly upset at the sentence. But the house of the woman he killed is also in court. This mother says, at least now the murderer's house knows how we have suffered for the past year.
Thus it's serious in life. One human being kills another human being and makes others suffer. How do you deal with this? Why should a murderer be allowed to live when that person has not allowed another person to live? Yet, if the killer is killed, why should person who as a driver kills person else in an crisis be allowed to live. A life for a life. The principle is uncomplicated enough.
Yet, when human values enter the picture, such as compassion and rehabilitation, then what punishment or reaction do you give person who has done wrong?
Paris Hilton and her jail term represents this. Paris represents how persons treat each other in a inescapable society.
Paris Hilton represents how life is currently, how is one to be able to make mistakes as they try and express and fulfill themselves in a community and in life?
Paris Hilton represents how a person regards themselves, what their self-image is, what self-awareness they have and don't have at that stage in life.
It's not Paris Hilton we see in front of us in the video. In the Larry King interview, Larry is busy with his subtle questions trying to make his version of a Paris Hilton character, while Paris Hilton on the other side of the table is busy counter-manipulating Larry King and his machinations trying to make herself into the media characters in The Great American Novel that best suits herself.
Bravo for Paris Hilton at age twenty-six that she got some pro advice and training probably in how to create the best Paris Hilton, media character for herself.
Now how about Paris Hilton's having sex pictures that got onto the Internet? I looked for them, and if it is literally her I saw some of the free pictures with Paris Hilton holding someone's erect cock. I am not interested in who he is. I am interested in Paris Hilton's sex life because her sexual behavior represents a inescapable attitude and value for society.
Larry King, her interviewer, has a young wife that he has made babies with, even though he is much older. How does Larry King feel about erotic pictures, which many habitancy call pornography?
I don't know, but I do know this. The old attitudes about sex originating from the Christian religion are negative and restrictive. To the accepting and loving person sex is not bad. It is good.
When Paris Hilton is shown holding her man's erect penis this is not porno. Bad habitancy project bad things. Sex is good. It generates good feelings in the middle of people, and new life. Larry King with a young wife is going to see probably a beautiful, naked woman every day. Is that pornography? No, it is not pornography. It is loving life, yourself and others.
Is looking Paris Hilton as a loving woman with a naked penis in her hand pornography? No, it is not pornography. It is human love. It is human sexuality. There is no divergence in the middle of being filmed being at the beach together with bathing suits, and being in a bedroom together using ones naked genitals to create loving and playful interactions together.
Society makes the group display of one bad, which is only an synthetic and negativistic attitude towards what is literally one of humanity's inescapable joys that helps make life worth living.
Paris Hilton talked about the jail habitancy doing a strip quest with her in which she has to strip naked and hold her ass cheeks apart, though not said in the interview, and have a stranger look up your ass.
The New York Times reporter asked why should Paris Hilton feel humiliated by this when she has already been seen on the internet naked and having sex?
Again, this shows how negativistic the media is. Being filmed having loving sex together could be seen as a breathtaking sight of natural beauty. A strip quest is done as a humiliation rite to show dominance by the guards of a jail or prison. It's a fact of life but not the same as a loving sexual encounter.
Conclusion
So when you find yourself interested in celebrities or other media news, you might do well to watch what you project onto these people. Look for negativistic attitudes being evoked in yourself. For these attitudes are your imprisonment against yourself and your potential to live life more and more freely. Look at how Paris Hilton stands up for herself against an old member of preparing community and does her best not to let this media person define her before the public. Paris Hilton takes her right to define herself in the eyes of others, and in the process probably affirms herself to herself as well. We can all do that, we can all define ourselves to ourselves and to others, and be the best fulfilled in life for so doing.
